How to read it

The 10-minute rule, briefly

A long-standing guideline suggests about 10 minutes of homework per grade level each night — roughly half an hour in 3rd grade, an hour in 6th, two hours by senior year. It’s a rule of thumb, not a limit. The useful signal isn’t the exact number; it’s whether homework regularly runs far over — often a sign a student is working harder than they should have to.

A vetted tutor can find why it’s taking so long and fix it — starting with a free session.
