A vetted tutor, right at your kitchen table.
In-home tutoring brings a carefully matched, degree-holding tutor to your home — so your student learns in a familiar space, with fewer distractions and no screen between them and their tutor. Where a local match is available, it’s the most personal way we teach.

Fewer distractions
A familiar, quiet space at home helps many students focus better than a busy center or a video call.
The tutor comes to you
No driving and no drop-off — sessions fit around dinner, sports, and the rest of family life.
Consistent one-on-one focus
The same vetted tutor every week, focused entirely on your student and their current classwork.
How in-home tutoring works at Elite.
It starts with a free trial so we understand your student, then we match a local, background-checked tutor who comes to your home on a schedule that fits.
1. Free trial & matchWe learn your student’s grade, subject, and goals, then match a degree-holding, background-checked tutor near you.
2. Sessions in your homeYour tutor comes to you and works through the real class material — homework, a syllabus, or a practice test.
3. A clear planOne concrete goal per session, with progress tracked toward the next test or grade.
The most personal way to close a gap.
Every Elite tutor holds at least a bachelor’s degree and passes a background check and two interviews before we send them to your home. Your student keeps the same tutor, so trust and the study plan build week over week — and you can see the progress at your own table.
Background-checked tutorsVetted and interviewed before they ever enter your home.
Same tutor every weekA real relationship, not a rotating roster.
Learning in contextRight where your student already does homework.
Every core subject and test, K–12.
In-home tutoring covers the full range: math from elementary through calculus, science including biology, chemistry, and physics, reading and writing, and test prep for the digital SAT, ACT, and AP exams. We also build study skills and executive function that carry across every class.
When in-home is the better fit.
In-home works best for younger students, anyone who focuses better away from a screen, and families who want a tutor woven into the home routine — where a local match is available. If your schedule is tight, your student is comfortable on a screen, or you need a specialist we don’t have nearby, online tutoring reaches the same vetted tutors from anywhere. Not sure? We’ll recommend the better fit after the free trial.
In-home tutoring FAQ.
What areas do you cover for in-home tutoring?
In-home tutoring depends on a local tutor match. We serve many communities across the Bay Area, Orange County, San Diego, and Los Angeles — tell us your city and we will check availability. Where a local match is not available, online tutoring reaches the same vetted tutors from anywhere.
Are your in-home tutors background-checked?
Yes. Every tutor holds at least a bachelor’s degree and passes a background check plus two interviews — one for subject mastery, one for how they connect with students — before we ever match them to your family.
Will my child have the same tutor each session?
Yes. We keep one consistent tutor so trust and the study plan build over time. If the fit is not right, we rematch.
What subjects can you teach in-home?
K–12 across math, science, reading and writing, study skills, and test prep for the digital SAT, ACT, and AP exams — the same range as our online tutoring.
How do we get started?
It starts with a free trial session so we understand your student’s needs and can confirm local availability. Call or text (408) 791-1255, or schedule online.
