Learning Objective Writer

Great lessons start with a clear target. This tool helps teachers and tutors write measurable "Students will be able to…" objectives: pick a Bloom's taxonomy level, choose a strong action verb, add your content and an optional condition or success criteria, and build as many as you need. It's completely free, and nothing is saved — everything runs right in your browser.

Step 1

Choose a Bloom's taxonomy level

The level sets the depth of thinking. Higher levels build on the ones below them.

Step 2

Pick a measurable action verb

Select a Bloom's level above to see strong verbs for that level.

Step 3

Add the content and success criteria

Your objective will appear here as you fill in the steps above.

    Questions about this tool

What does the Learning Objective Writer do?

It helps you write clear, measurable learning objectives. Choose a Bloom's taxonomy level, pick a strong action verb, add the content or skill and an optional condition and success criteria, and it assembles a well-formed "Students will be able to…" statement. You can build a whole list and print or copy them.

    Is it free and private?

Yes. It's completely free and runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is saved, sent, or shared — close the tab and it's gone.

Any tips for writing strong objectives?

Use one measurable verb per objective and avoid vague words like "understand" or "know" on their own. Add a condition (the "given…" setup) and a criteria (how well, such as "with 80% accuracy") to make the objective observable and assessable.
