Substitution or elimination?
Substitution when a variable is already solved for; elimination when the equations line up and a term will cancel. We teach students to choose, not force one.
What does "no solution" mean?
Parallel lines never cross, so there's no solution. Identical lines share every point — infinitely many. We show how to spot both early.
Algebra 1 or Algebra 2?
Both — two variables in Algebra 1, three variables and nonlinear systems in Algebra 2.
How soon will it click?
