Meet Chloe L.

Chloe is a special education teacher who has worked with students since 2016. She currently teaches junior high at The Creekside School, where she creates highly specialized daily routines and curriculum for students with moderate to severe support needs, collaborates with related services, administration, and classroom staff on best practices in student care and education, and trains and onboards new teaching assistants in specialized instruction that centers emotional regulation and trauma-informed skills coaching.

Before that she spent seven years with the Moreland School District. As a Special Day Class teacher for second and third grade, she supported special needs students academically, physically, and emotionally, created scaffolded curriculum for disability- and impairment-related academic needs, and handled case management and implementation of Individualized Education Plans. As a Resource Specialist Teacher for grades one through five, she supported students who needed special education accommodations in the general education setting and provided resources for students and teachers to support diverse needs. She began there as a special education aide, working one-to-one and in the classroom to adapt learning material to individual learning needs, and served as a satellite classroom teacher assisting at-risk students in person during the COVID-19 school closures.
