Meet Daniel S.

As an Assistant Language Teacher with the Bungoono City Board of Education through the JET Programme from 2021 to 2024, Daniel aided in the development of English education curriculum for over 400 students spanning 1st to 9th grade. He assisted students in scoring above the national average on the English standardized test for two years. He established an English conversation club for middle school students to promote fluency and English-speaking confidence, and he coached students for a city-wide English speech competition. Daniel designed and created activities, worksheets, and projects to aid with learning goals, and he analyzed student performance to identify areas for improvement to increase positive learning outcomes. He worked to strengthen cultural awareness between students and foreigners, and he assisted with the organization, setup, and cleanup of school events.

From 2021 to 2024, Daniel also served as a volunteer English conversation instructor in Bungoono City, where he created and led 90-minute activity-based English conversation lessons for adult learners between beginner and intermediate levels. He provided mentorship and guidance to other instructors to help improve their teaching performance and taught them how to anticipate class-specific accommodation and instructional needs. Daniel participated in collaborative teaching activities and proactively engaged in local city opportunities.
