Meet Farnaz D.

Farnaz has been tutoring privately since 2012, working with students across a wide range of ages — from middle schoolers building their foundational skills all the way through college students tackling upper-division coursework. Her subjects include Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, and AP Calculus. Over the years she has worked through her own tutoring practice as well as with other tutoring companies, along with many direct private clients.

One thing Farnaz has learned from working with so many different students is that there's no one-size-fits-all approach. She adapts her teaching style to fit each learner — whether someone is highly visual, needs to talk through concepts out loud, learns best through hands-on problem solving, or just needs more patience and repetition to build confidence. She has worked with students with IEPs, English language learners, and high-achieving students preparing for competitive college coursework.

On the teaching side, Farnaz is completing her California Preliminary Single Subject Credential in Science (Chemistry authorized) through the Santa Clara County Office of Education, and she has substitute taught across several Bay Area districts including Palo Alto Unified, MVLA, and Cupertino Union. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a Minor in Biomedical Engineering from San Jose State University.
