Meet Joel H.

Joel has 17 years of experience in higher education, both in the classroom and in several administrative roles. For the last five years, he was an Associate Professor of Religion at Northern Virginia Community College, where he taught religious studies and English composition courses. Before that, he was a graduate student at Northwestern University, where he worked as a teaching assistant for the religious studies and philosophy departments and as the Assistant Chair of the Humanities Residential College, where he advised the student executive board.

Before pursuing graduate school, Joel finished his preliminary California teaching credential in English in 2007, which included student teaching at Lakewood High School in Lakewood, CA.
