Alyanna has experience tutoring and teaching students across a wide range of ages. As a substitute teacher with a staffing company, she managed classrooms of up to 30 students from preschool through 8th grade, providing homework help, leading lessons, and adapting instruction to different learning styles. In addition, she has mentored peers in both academic and workplace settings, including training new team members at Starbucks and guiding fellow students through research techniques in her undergraduate labs at UC Santa Cruz. These experiences taught her patience, clear communication, and how to break down complex ideas into simple, understandable steps. She enjoys helping students build confidence, stay motivated, and discover their strengths in subjects like math, science, reading, and writing.
