Meet Sean R.

Sean received his Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Southern California in the spring of 2022. The coursework he took focused on educational access and equity, literacy instruction and development, blended learning, curriculum and pedagogy, and identifying and teaching to student differences.

While pursuing his education, Sean student taught in a 1st grade classroom at Central Elementary and a 5th grade classroom at Glen View Elementary, both schools in the Escondido School District. After earning his degree, he was fortunate enough to be hired at the same district. He taught 5th grade during the 2022-2023 school year and was moved to kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year. Moreover, he has been a teacher at Guajome Park Academy as a 4th grade teacher for the current 2024-2025 school year.

The culmination of his student teaching and the past two years of teaching have only strengthened his ability to teach within multiple tier settings. Sean looks at any and all opportunities to teach any grade as a challenge but, more importantly, a privilege.
