Meet Andrew L.

In his current role as an English tutor, Andrew works 1-on-1 with students from La Jolla Country Day School in San Diego. His work typically revolves around helping his students with their essays and preparing them for exams.

In his past position as an Adjunct Lecturer at The City College of New York (CCNY), Andrew taught an English composition class that is mandatory for all incoming freshmen. The syllabus revolved around 3 major writing assignments: a narrative essay, a research essay, and a self-reflection essay (other student work included readings, worksheets, and an oral presentation).

Andrew worked as an educational specialist at a tutoring company that works with the New York City Department of Education in cultivating effective studying habits in students. In his capacity as a specialist and presenter, he traveled to schools in all five boroughs of New York and delivered seminars to middle and high schoolers. Class sizes were as large as 40 students or as small as ten.
