Meet Jacky T.

Jacky has been tutoring as a private tutor, a college teaching assistant, and an after-school tutor for a non-profit organization for over three years. He believes education and teaching are like sowing seeds in a garden. Education is a vital step in determining the eventual outcome of youths' lives. Like a gardener, Jacky believes being an educator allows him to help nurture and mentor students to reach their full potential. While grades are important, he believes in fostering self-confidence, and a love for learning is the most important aspect of tutoring for a student's long-term future success.

During his time as a tutor, Jacky has helped many students from middle school, high school, and college raise their grades and test scores in math, physics, and chemistry. He also believes it is important to build a strong relationship with a student and he likes to serve as a mentor to help build not only the student's academic skills but also to help guide them through challenging future decisions such as college and career planning.

Jacky's teaching methods have been effective as a result of his patience, positivity, active listening, targeted questioning, and easy clarification of complex topics. He can tailor his teaching to suit the needs of students of all learning levels and will go the extra mile to ensure that a topic is well understood before moving forward.
