Meet Jessica S.
Jessica took graduate classes at Hood College to gain a Maryland secondary education teaching certificate. She also earned an early childhood education certificate in both Maryland and Hawaii. In California, she holds a substitute teacher credential. She has substitute taught every grade and nearly every subject.
Jessica spent 7 years volunteer tutoring fifth graders who were struggling with their reading, both helping them and reporting back to their teacher. Since October, she has been teaching a grown man who could not read, how to read, through a program at the public library.
In addition to graduating near the top of her class at an Ivy League school, Jessica has worked as a professional writer and editor, most notably for Potomac Life Magazine and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
