Meet Kieran S.

Kieran cut his teeth tutoring middle and lower high schoolers as a high school senior. In college, he tutored high schoolers for AP tests and the SAT/ACT, along with college freshmen in introductory STEM courses, through his college's Academic Excellence tutoring program. He has also tutored at Mathnasium and the Huntington Learning Center, both of which are more established tutoring centers. These experiences taught him how to work with a wide range of students across a wide range of subjects.

His primary areas of expertise are mathematics and standardized-test preparation. He majored in mathematics in college, and so has a strong foundation in the discipline that makes him well suited for tutoring any elementary, middle, or high school math subject. He also tutors all sections of the SAT and ACT, and has ample experience helping students attain scores in both tests that put them in the 99th percentile of test takers.

His tutoring philosophy centers on helping students develop understanding, problem-solving skills, and the confidence to succeed independently. He understands that each student has individual needs and goals, and strives to be patient, encouraging, and adaptable to those particulars as he tutors. Whether a student is struggling with homework, preparing for a test, or pushing themselves in advanced coursework, Kieran works to help them reach their academic goals.
