Meet Leela M.

Leela served as an English Language Tutor with an organization called Project READ, working closely with an immigrant who sought a job that would enable her to be financially independent. She assisted her with English grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, and speaking and listening skills. This experience helped Leela develop various ways to convey information, ensuring her student understood the content taught.

She also worked as a teaching assistant for an introductory biology lab, where she led labs and assisted students, conducted office hours for one-on-one tutoring, wrote exams, and graded lab reports. This role taught Leela how to prepare and deliver lectures, become a better leader, and adapt to different learning styles, all while conveying information with patience and clarity.

Additionally, Leela worked at an organization called Inclusive World, which aims to help differently-abled students integrate into society. She assisted students with Excel to prepare them for data-entry jobs, and she supported students in art classes to enhance their manual dexterity.
