Meet Valerie M.
Valerie has experience tutoring high school students in Algebra 1, geometry, and precalculus, working with more than 100 students throughout the school day. She provided one-on-one and small-group support, helping students understand difficult concepts, complete assignments, prepare for assessments, and build confidence in their math skills.
She worked closely with classroom teachers to identify where students needed additional support, and adapted her explanations to each student's learning style and skill level. She is also bilingual in English and Spanish, which allowed her to support Spanish-speaking students when language was a barrier to understanding the material. Her approach is patient, encouraging, and focused on helping students understand the "why" behind a problem rather than simply giving them the answer.
