Meet Janice K.

As an undergraduate student at UCLA, Janice gained two years of paid experience as a peer learning facilitator for UCLA Student Athletics. She conducted virtual and in-person private and group sessions in college level Pre-calculus, History, and beginner to intermediate Spanish. She gained excellent organizational and communication skills creating engaging weekly lessons, activities, and student evaluations. She consistently received good to excellent evaluations from the students she tutored every quarter.

After graduating UCLA in 2021, Janice further developed her tutoring skills as a Math and Science GED tutor at the Orange County Rescue Mission. She has two years of volunteer experience working with adult residents through virtual and in-person tutoring sessions. In that time, two of her students successfully passed the Math and Science GED sections and went on to graduate from the Educational/Vocational program.
