Meet Julie W.

Julie specializes in teaching writing and reading. She taught Introduction to Composition and Introduction to Research at the college level, in addition to Introduction to Poetry. She worked with students on their essays, discussing revision and providing feedback.

In Introduction to Research, they covered the differences between quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing, finding quality sources, using MLA versus APA, and evaluating research methods.

Around that time, she also tutored student essay writing one-on-one, discussing theses, transitions, and more. She worked specifically with young adults who had ADHD and autism, body doubling and creating writing plans in addition to typical tutoring.

Before that, she tutored elementary school students in reading for a non-profit called Reading Partners, tutoring students one-on-one in phonics. She believes in a balance between sight reading and phonics.

Since then she has worked with adults, revising PhD theses, and helping ESL students work through fine grammatical errors. Every Elite tutor is personally interviewed, reference-checked, and background-checked before working with a student.
